MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE

Maybe you’re on another side.
Maybe you’re on another page.
Maybe love has faded.
Maybe you don’t care.
Boy, you don’t even care.
Maybe I have upset you.
Maybe you just need space.
Even though I still want you
Why can’t you look at my face?
Boy, look at my face!

So, could you tell me
What are you thinking?
I want to know.
I’m sick of doubting:
Should I stay or should I go?
Should I go away?
My head’s thinking:
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
I knew from the beginning
That some things always change
But when I talk to you now
The words don’t sound the same.
So much love to waste.
My head keeps thinking:
Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Maybe you need another
Maybe another drink.
Maybe I just need you closer.
Closer than I used to think.
Babe, I think of you.
This distance between you and me
It’s slowly killing me.
If you don’t have courage to break up,
Go ahead and just say:
Babe, let’s just break up.

So, could you tell me
What are you thinking?
I want to know.
Then, we could work it out
Before love leaves us alone.
Can I ease the ache?
My head’s thinking:
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Remember the beginning
Where you felt loved and safe?
We can’t go back in time
But we can rekindle the flame.
It’d be so much love to waste.
And my head’s thinking:
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
